Paris Olympics 2024 Archery: Deepika Kumari vs Reena Parnat preview, prediction, and where to watch
Reena Parnat, an accomplished archer from Estonia, will face former World No. 1 Deepika Kumari of India in the Women's Individual 1/32 Eliminations at the Paris Olympics 2024. This highly anticipated match is set for 3:56 PM IST on Wednesday, July 31.
Reena Parnat, a seasoned competitor, has represented Estonia in two previous Olympic Games - London 2012 and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (held in 2021). Despite facing challenges in her Olympic journey, Parnat has continually showcased her dedication and skill in archery.
Olympic Performances
In the London 2012 Olympics, Parnat finished 52nd out of 64 archers in the ranking round, scoring 621 points out of 720. Unfortunately, she was eliminated in the first round by Alejandra Valencia of Mexico. At the Tokyo Olympics, she improved her performance, finishing 17th in the final individual rankings, though she exited in the second round.
Road to Paris 2024
Parnat's journey to the Paris 2024 Olympics was marked by a determined performance at the European Continental Olympic Qualifier in 2024. She secured her Olympic quota by defeating two archers in the knockouts. Her achievements include a silver medal at the European Continental Qualification Tournament 2024, highlighting her potential to excel on the Olympic stage.
Olympics LIVE: P V Sindhu in action against Estonian opponent in second group stage game
A bumper day of action at the Paris 2024 Olympics sees 19 medals up for grabs on Monday 29 July.
Canada's Summer McIntosh is one of the rising stars in swimming, with the superstar 17-year-old hoping to go one better than the silver she won in the 400m freestyle on Saturday night.
On Monday, the first swimming final is the women's 400m individual medley – in which McIntosh is the world record holder – and she is also set to compete in the last final of the night, the women's 200m freestyle.
Elsewhere, over at the Aquatics Centre, Tom Daley is hoping to defend his synchronised 10m platform crown with new Team GB diving partner Noah Williams.
Daley took gold with Matty Lee in Tokyo 2020, but faces a mammoth task on Monday given the People’s Republic of China’s Yang Hao and Lian Junjie have won the past three world titles.
In the artistic gymnastics, it is the men’s team all-round final, and so you can expect plenty of twists, turns, tears and tumbles throughout the afternoon and evening at the Bercy Arena, with defending champions Japan set to battle China for the gold.
